Malerie attends an Osteopathic school in Hamilton. There, she studies anatomy, physiology and principles in the practice of Osteopathy. At this point in her studies, she is going into her fourth year of a four year program. An imperative part of her program is her practicum. Malerie needs bodies! She will be offering offering manual therapy under the mentorship of our Licensed Osteopath, Danielle Henry. Because Malerie’s treatments can not be claimed through extended health care benefits, she will be offering them at a discounted rate.
Always knowing deep down that the body could self-heal and self-regulate, Malerie has searched for years to heal the body through different modalities. Through food; attending Hippocrates Health Institute in Florida. Through movement; healing from her own surgery. And then finally, Osteopathy found her.
Malerie treats the body as a whole; for the body is a dynamic unit of function. Osteopathy is an alternative medicine that emphasizes manual readjustments through myofascial release, post isometric relaxation and articulation. Essentially, Osteopaths realign the body in the center of gravity, relaxing and lengthening the tissues allowing fluid to flow in the path of least resistance and continue to heal on its own.
Osteopaths follow the principles of Osteopathy and work with the body using the anatomy on all layers to guide the treatment. Essentially, Osteopaths realign the body in the center of gravity, relaxing and lengthening the tissues allowing fluid to flow in the path of least resistance and continue to heal on its own. Osteopaths know the body is self-healing and self-regulating and as long as muscles and organs are getting the supplies they need through the artery and nerve then proper drainage can take place through the vein and lymphatic system which will restore the health of the body.
In Malerie’s free time you can find her in the kitchen or hiking with her pup!
