A dietitian will work with you to make changes in your eating habits in order to optimize your health and well-being. These changes could include adding or removing foods from your diet, introducing nutritional supplements, or restructuring your mealtimes and eating schedule. All of the suggestions made to you will be tailored to your specific needs, preferences, and lifestyle. Together, you and the dietitian will develop action plans that will help you overcome any barriers you may be facing so you can achieve your goals.
Even if you don’t have a medical condition, you might want to live a healthier lifestyle now to prevent health issues down the road. Or maybe you’re struggling with your relationship with food, either by being too restrictive or overeating. Our dietitian has an anti-diet approach based in the concepts of Intuitive Eating. Throughout your appointments, you will learn how to listen to the messages your body is sending you as well as how to eat healthy in a way that is physically and emotionally satisfying.
If you would like to work with our dietitian, book a complimentary meet and greet with Karissa. This an opportunity to get to know each other and find out if you’ll be a good fit for one another. At your initial visit, Karissa will collect detailed information on your lifestyle and eating habits. Then she will develop an individualized nutrition plan based on your specific goals.
You have the option to either make appointments as needed or make a commitment to a nutrition program.
Our 5-week nutrition program is designed for clients who need to make dietary changes to manage their medical condition (ex: IBS, PCOS, celiac disease, etc). This program will provide you with the nutrition education you will need to improve your symptoms and a meal plan you can use to remove the stress of grocery shopping and cooking with dietary restrictions.
Our 10-week nutrition program is a detailed journey through the 10 principles of Intuitive Eating. Throughout the program, you will mend your relationship with food and your body as you learn how to nourish yourself. The time between each appointment in these programs will typically be 1-2 weeks, depending on your needs and schedule.
Regardless of the option you choose, between each session Karissa will give you relevant learning activities so you can practice skills that will help you build long-term healthy eating habits. If you need support between appointments, Karissa will be available by email.
