What to expect?

Initial assessment

Your first visit is a comprehensive assessment where your physiotherapist will take the time to review your medical history, symptoms, and goals. They will perform a physical examination to assess movement, strength, posture, and any restrictions. They will provide you with an initial diagnosis and discuss your personalized treatment plan. They will also begin treatment in this session, which may include manual therapy, exercises, or pain relief techniques.

Follow ups

Based on your initial assessment, you and your physiotherapist will work together to develop a plan of care that meets your goals and needs. This usually consists of follow up visits to work on your presenting concerns. Every individual case is different and depending on the nature of your condition the treatment duration may vary. These follow up treatments are usually 20-30 minutes long.

During follow-up sessions, your physiotherapist will help you track your progress and adjust your treatment plan as needed. They will provide a variety of treatment approaches based on your personal needs. These may include things like hands-on therapy (such as joint mobilization, myofascial release, or stretching), electrotherapy for pain relief (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), shockwave therapy), targeted exercises to improve strength and mobility and offer education and at home strategies to prevent set backs and enhance recovery.
