Pregnancy Acupuncture

Pregnancy is a time of incredible physical, emotional and hormonal change. Acupuncture offers safe, supportive care to help you feel more comfortable, balanced, and supported throughout each stage of pregnancy. Using Traditional Chinese Medicine and evidence-informed care, acupuncture can help manage common pregnancy symptoms while supporting overall wellbeing as your body adapts and prepares for birth.

How Can Acupuncture Help?

Pregnancy acupuncture treatments are tailored to your stage of pregnancy, symptoms, and individual needs.

Acupuncture may help with:

– Morning sickness and nausea

– Fatigue and low energy

– Stress, anxiety, and emotional wellbeing

– Headaches and migraines

– Back pain, hip pain, and pelvic discomfort

– Sleep difficulties

– Swelling

– Breech positioning support

– Birth preparation in the third trimester

Treatments are gentle, relaxing, and designed with both mother and baby in mind.

Labour Preparation and Birth Support

In the final weeks of pregnancy, acupuncture can be used to help prepare the body for labour and support natural labour induction when appropriate.

Acupuncture may help:

– Encourage the body’s natural labour processes
– Promote relaxation and reduce anxiety before labour
– Support cervical readiness and optimal baby positioning
– Reduce tension and support more efficient contractions
– Potentially reduce the need for medical induction or other interventions
– Support recovery and overall wellbeing leading into birth
Labour induction acupuncture can begin at 36+ weeks.

What to Expect

Your initial visit includes a comprehensive consultation to discuss your health history, pregnancy symptoms, and goals for treatment. Follow-up appointments are designed to provide ongoing support throughout your pregnancy.
